- Who can rent a vehicle from Ryde?
You must be at least 21 years old, have held a valid driver’s license for at least one year, and possess an International Driving Permit if you’re a foreign national. A valid credit card and a passport or national ID are also mandatory for verification and deposit purposes.
- How do I confirm a booking?
Bookings can be made through our website or by contacting our team directly. A confirmation email will be sent upon successful reservation. Depending on the booking, full payment or a deposit may be required in advance.
- What documents are required to rent a car?
- Valid Driver’s License (min. 1 year)
- International Driving Permit (for foreign nationals)
- Passport or National ID
- Valid Credit Card (for deposit)
- What’s Ryde’s fuel policy?
All vehicles should be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup. You are responsible for the cost of fuel during your rental period.
- Is there a refund for unused fuel?
No, Ryde does not offer refunds for excess fuel.
- Should I keep fuel receipts?
Yes, especially if you top up engine oil, coolant, or gearbox oil. Use only the recommended fuel for your vehicle.
- What happens during vehicle collection?
We verify your documents, inspect the vehicle with you for pre-existing damage, and hand over the keys once everything is confirmed.
- What if I return the car late?
Late returns may incur extra charges based on the additional time used. Notify us in advance if you anticipate any delay.
- Do I need to clean the vehicle before returning it?
Yes. If the vehicle is returned dirty or with cigarette odors, a USD 35 cleaning fee will be applied.
- What if I lose the car key?
Losing the car key will result in full security deposit being charged to cover the cost of replacement.
- Can I use the vehicle off-road or in national parks?
No. Ryde vehicles are not permitted for off-roading, inside National Parks, or on safaris. Doing so voids your insurance coverage and may lead to additional penalties.
- Is smoking allowed in Ryde vehicles?
No. Smoking is strictly prohibited. A USD 35 fee will be applied if smoking is detected.
- Can someone else drive the vehicle?
Only registered and approved additional drivers are allowed. Unauthorized drivers will void the insurance and the lessee will be liable for any damage or accidents.
- How can I extend my rental?
Contact our team at least 3 days before your rental ends. Extensions are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.
- Can I cancel my booking?
Yes, by emailing [email protected]. Our cancellation policy is:
- More than 24 hours before pickup: Full refund
- Within 24 hours: USD 50 cancellation fee
- No-show without notice: One day’s rental charged
- Can I change my pickup or drop-off dates?
Yes, subject to vehicle availability. Please inform us as early as possible for a smooth adjustment.
- What should I do in case of an accident?
- Call Ryde Rent A Car and the local police immediately
- Do not move the vehicle or admit fault

- Names, contact numbers, license numbers of all parties
- Vehicle plate numbers
- Insurance details
- Photos of damage and a police report if possible
- Am I responsible for damages?
Yes, unless you’ve purchased additional coverage. If you breach any terms (e.g., unauthorized drivers, reckless or drunk driving), you are fully liable for all damages.
- What if there is a theft or fire incident?
Report immediately to both Ryde and the local police. If not reported, you may be held fully liable.
